coop s_xperimental

jus was playin around in photoshop with layers, masking and texturing. exactly what i was visioning when i first started this project. this is my current desktop and i freakin love it........a dedication to my coop_s back home, corny but true! i also decided to give it some character and attitude by applying lens flare to the head lights.

to the bottom is a collage of the different types of elements that was put in.



the mood for this would def. be sitting on the beach and enjoying that special persons company on a moonlit night. don't know if i'm done with this one yet, maybe some palm trees will finish it up!

more 3d................abduction

this was an experimental on shaders, textures, lighting using a spotlight. characteristics such as volumetric, area, lens, diffuse was applied within the lighting. the shaders were downloaded and put into our presets by our 3d teacher thanks a lot to him. i wasn't goin for a dark look, but that's what you get when you work with spotlights. aloha!

3d first pass

domino's..........i love this piece because it took me a day to make, which surprised me a lot on how quick you can create something if you just focus your mind on a project while eating chocolate covered mac nutts . i had just started learning cinema4d last thursday and came in on friday through curiosity. i feel there's more work to be done such as adding an eraser, books, rubber bands just so i can capture that authentic office feel.

music

a motion piece from term2 titled "music". there was really no direction with this one. there was a lot of going back and forth on this project. things really didn't come together until the last couple of days. one interesting part about this project was that the audio was made entirely by me which was awesome because we got to work with reason. it's a music program that's got pre-set notes with various instruments like guitars, flutes, piano, drums, etc, it is then applied by using the different notes on a keyboard. i must tell you that because of the time issue's the first part of the music was reason and the second half i had to go into soundtrack and put something together really quick. in the end the audio and video matched up very well. overall the video was better then expected and sometimes that's good rite!

t design

this t shirt design is a term2 project which had to be done entirely in illustrator. the only tool that was excluded was the live trace tool. as you can see i decided to cheat a bit, there was no way i was gonna go with the pen tool and meticulously shape the lion. i actually added the lions after i created the wing. the wing on the shirt symbolizes freedom from the world and surroundings around us. also the logo in the middle is the letter i which represent's a clothing company i'm working on the side called (identyti).

snowboard

this is my snowboard design from term2. i've always seen the hawaiian islands incorporated within the designs of shirts, surfboards, surfshorts, but never on a snowboard. partly because hawaii and snow have no relation. hawaii does snow on haleakala and mauna kea jus to let all of you know. so i wanted to take this opportunity to see how they would look on a snowboard.

the one in the middle is the bottom with the lat. and long. variables of the hawaiian chain. it also includes the zip code of where i live and the degree of the islands in relation to the equator. to the right of that would be the top of the board with the area code clearly spelled out. the face was an inspiration by an existing shawn white board.

during the whole process i thought that i would also create a version of a wahine's board since i had completed this assignment suprisingly faster than i originally thought. i chose the plumeria flower which represents women in hawaii very well. i created this piece using live trace of two different colors, changed the sizes of duplicates and added a very light blue watercolor stroke on both of them. at first i had the flowers covering the entire board which looked good, but i wasn't satisfied so i continued play around. i then found that adding negative space would give it a better feel.

inaudible memories

here it is finally my first posting. it's a short short story term1 project called "inaudible memories". the concept came entirely from how i was feeling at that moment. a moment of feeling home sick and thinking about family and friends from back home. i found the process to be interesting with acquiring and completing permits and releases, thankfully that was the hard part. this video had a lot of elements including pre-production, video-production and post-production which i hadn't realized was involved in such a process. i had fun shooting and editing the video because i have worked on premiere previous to this assignment. overall i am satisfied with the video enjoy!

i am starting to see the importance of a blogg. after seeing other student's bloggs i was inspired and now highly motivated to dedicate some extra time in making my blogg happen.
